OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN) - Summary
The OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN) plays a pivotal role in delivering advanced obstetrical and gynecological care to patients admitted to the hospital. This position involves direct patient care, participation in multidisciplinary rounds, and serving as a safety leader within the labor and delivery unit. The OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN) is a key collaborator, supporting both hospital staff and community providers to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care at all times.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care to hospitalized patients, including contraceptive services where applicable.
- Deliver direct care for high-risk obstetric patients, including those requiring Maternal Fetal Medicine support via remote consultation.
- Participate daily in Labor and Delivery board rounds, contributing to collaborative patient management and care planning.
- Serve as the Safety Officer on Labor and Delivery, ensuring that all patients receive the highest standard of care regardless of their primary clinician.
- Support community physicians and midwives by offering clinical assistance and practice coverage as needed and safely available.
- Document all patient encounters and care activities in accordance with hospital standards and best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
- Active medical license to practice as a physician in the relevant state.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with hospital leadership, multidisciplinary hospitalist teams, nursing staff, community physicians, and organizational personnel.
- Significant experience in obstetrical emergency care is preferred.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, quality, and compassionate care.
