OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN) - Summary
- Deliver inpatient obstetrical and gynecologic care as part of a multidisciplinary hospital team
- Ensure the highest standards of safety and quality in labor and delivery units
- Support community healthcare providers and promote collaborative care
- Act as a safety officer and advocate for patients in the hospital setting
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care to patients, including contraceptive services where available
- Manage direct patient care for high-risk obstetric patients, utilizing Maternal Fetal Medicine support as needed via telemedicine or consultation
- Participate in daily board rounds on Labor and Delivery units to coordinate patient care and discuss safety initiatives
- Serve as the designated Safety Officer on Labor and Delivery, ensuring safe outcomes for all patients regardless of primary admitting provider
- Offer clinical assistance and support to community physicians and midwives, including practice coverage as requested and when safety permits
- Engage in quality improvement activities and adhere to hospital policies and guidelines

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible OB/GYN Physician
- Active medical license to practice medicine in the state of assignment
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and foster positive relationships with hospital leadership, hospitalist teams, nursing staff, staff physicians, and corporate personnel
- Significant experience in managing obstetrical emergencies is preferred
