The OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN) role involves working within an established hospital program, where you will deliver direct care to a diverse patient population, including high-risk obstetrical cases. Your expertise will contribute to positive patient outcomes and enhance the overall standard of care within the hospital. Whether collaborating with Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists via telehealth or leading safety initiatives on Labor and Delivery, your impact will be felt by patients, families, and the broader medical community.
OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN) - Summary- Serve as a core provider of obstetric and gynecologic care in a hospital environment
- Engage in interdisciplinary teamwork with physicians, nursing staff, and allied health professionals
- Champion patient safety and best practices throughout the continuum of care
- Support and collaborate with local community physicians and midwives
- Deliver comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care, including contraceptive services where available
- Provide direct patient care to high-risk OB patients, utilizing telemedicine support from Maternal Fetal Medicine as needed
- Participate in daily Labor and Delivery board rounds, contributing clinical insights and recommendations
- Act as the Safety Officer on Labor and Delivery, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety for all admissions
- Offer clinical assistance and practice coverage to community physicians and midwives as requested and as safely available
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN) best practices and protocols
- Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing medical education

- Board Certified or Active Candidate in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Current license to practice medicine in the assigned state, in good standing
- Demonstrated ability to build strong rapport with hospital leadership, clinical staff, nursing teams, and OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN) colleagues
- Significant experience with obstetrical emergency care is preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and collaborative skills
- Experienced OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN) passionate about providing evidence-based care
- Highly relational and adept at fostering positive interprofessional relationships
- Comfortable managing complex and high-risk obstetrical scenarios
- Committed to upholding the highest standards of patient safety and quality care
- Proactive in supporting continuing education and professional engagement
- This OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN) position offers flexible scheduling with a mix of 24-hour and 12-hour shifts, ideal for those seeking work-life balance in a hospital setting
- Full-time clinicians typically work 5-9 (24-hour) shifts per 28-day block, depending on program needs and model
