OB Hospitalist (OB/GYN Hospitalist Physician) - Summary
As an OB Hospitalist (OB/GYN Hospitalist Physician), you will be responsible for providing comprehensive inpatient obstetrical and gynecological care. The role emphasizes direct patient care, especially for high-risk patients, and requires daily participation in labor and delivery board rounds. You will serve as the Safety Officer for labor and delivery, ensuring the highest standards of safety for all patients, regardless of their primary admitting clinician. This position also includes providing clinical support and assistance to community physicians and midwives as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver obstetrical and gynecological care to patients, including contraceptive services at applicable hospitals.
- Provide direct patient care for high-risk obstetric patients, including management in situations where Maternal Fetal Medicine support is remote (telephone or video consultation).
- Participate daily in Labor and Delivery board rounds, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient care plans.
- Serve as the Safety Officer on Labor and Delivery, ensuring patient safety standards are met for all individuals on the unit.
- Support community physicians and midwives by offering clinical assistance and practice coverage as requested and as safely available.
- Contribute to a culture of collaboration, communication, and continuous improvement within the hospitalist program.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified or active candidate in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
- Licensed to practice medicine in the state of the assigned site.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with hospital leadership, clinical staff, and corporate teams.
- Significant experience in obstetrical emergency care is preferred.
