We are seeking a dedicated and experienced OB Hospitalist Medical Director (OB/GYN) to join our clinical leadership team. The OB Hospitalist Medical Director (OB/GYN) will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the OB hospitalist program, ensuring that clinical and operational objectives are met, and building positive, collaborative relationships with hospital staff and leadership. OB Hospitalist Medical Director (OB/GYN) - Summary
- Lead and oversee the OB hospitalist program, ensuring delivery of high-quality, value-based patient care
- Serve as a key liaison between hospital leadership, clinical teams, and administrative staff
- Provide mentorship and training for new clinicians joining the OB hospitalist team
- Collaborate on clinical and operational initiatives to achieve organizational objectives
Duties & Responsibilities
- Direct daily operations of the OB hospitalist program, ensuring alignment with value-based care principles
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hospital medical staff, nursing teams, and administrative leaders
- Foster collaboration among physician and CNM OB hospitalist team members to promote teamwork and excellence
- Report to and collaborate with executive leadership, such as the Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, or Vice President of Clinical Operations, to ensure program quality and consistency
- Travel to the hospital as needed to address operational priorities and maintain program standards
- Train and develop new clinicians in the organization’s value-based culture, supporting continuous learning and improvement
- Communicate and enforce clinical policies, protocols, and expectations to ensure consistent, high-quality care
- Manage minor physician and staff issues, escalating concerns to executive leadership when appropriate
- Identify and implement strategies to increase labor and delivery utilization in collaboration with hospital and organizational leadership
- Commit to at least five 24-hour (or equivalent) OB hospitalist shifts per 28-day period to maintain clinical engagement and leadership presence

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN)
- Active medical license in the state where assigned
- Significant experience in obstetrical emergency care is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to build strong rapport and effective working relationships with hospital leadership, nursing teams, hospitalist colleagues, and corporate staff
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Commitment to upholding clinical excellence and value-based care standards
