OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director) - Summary
As the OB Hospitalist Director, you will lead and oversee the operational aspects of the OB Hospitalist program while fostering a collaborative, value-based care culture. You will serve as the key liaison between hospital administration, nursing staff, physician teams, and OBHG corporate leadership to maintain and enhance program quality, patient outcomes, and staff engagement. This position requires a proactive approach to program management, relationship-building, and clinical policy implementation, ensuring the program aligns with both organizational and hospital objectives. The OB Hospitalist Director will work closely with senior medical leadership, including the Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, and Vice President of Clinical Operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the OB Hospitalist program, maintaining a focus on quality, efficiency, and value-based care.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with hospital medical and nursing staff, administrative leaders, and the OB Hospitalist physician and CNM teams.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clinical program management, reporting directly to senior medical leadership (MMD, MDO, or VPCO).
- Collaborate closely with senior leaders to ensure alignment with clinical and operational objectives of both OBHG and the hospital.
- Provide regular presence at the hospital, traveling as necessary to address operational priorities and program needs.
- Lead training and development initiatives for new clinicians, instilling a culture of value-based care and clinical excellence.
- Communicate, implement, and enforce clinical policies, standard operating procedures, and expectations for all program staff.
- Manage minor physician issues, escalating more complex matters to appropriate senior leadership as needed.
- Work in partnership with hospital leaders and OBHG management to identify opportunities for increasing Labor and Delivery utilization and improving patient experience.
- Fulfill a minimum of five (5) 24-hour (or equivalent) OB hospitalist clinical shifts every 28-day period, maintaining direct involvement in patient care.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) required.
- Active medical license to practice in the state of assignment.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive, collaborative relationships with hospital leadership, clinical teams, and organizational stakeholders.
- Significant experience in obstetrical emergency care is strongly preferred.
- Ability to provide leadership in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary clinical environment.
