The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director) plays a pivotal leadership role within the clinical team, ensuring the delivery and management of a high-quality, value-based OB hospitalist program. This position is critical in upholding standards of patient care, fostering a culture of collaboration, and maintaining strong professional relationships across departments and organizational levels. The OB Hospitalist Director is responsible for overseeing program operations, driving clinical excellence, and supporting the ongoing development of team members. This full-time role offers a unique opportunity for an experienced, board-certified OB/GYN physician to make a significant impact on both clinical outcomes and operational success.
As the OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director), you will report to senior clinical leadership, including the Market Medical Director (MMD), Medical Director of Operations (MDO), or Vice President of Clinical Operations (VPCO). Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring program objectives align with both the company's and the hospital's clinical and operational goals. You will serve as the key liaison between the hospitalist team, hospital medical staff, nursing staff, and administrative leadership, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration for optimal patient care. The position requires regular on-site presence to address operational priorities and uphold the highest standards of obstetrical care.
Clinicians in this role are expected to commit to at least five (5) 24-hour (or equivalent) OB hospitalist shifts within each 28-day period. The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director) is also responsible for the training and development of new clinicians, fostering a value-driven culture, and ensuring adherence to established clinical policies and procedures. This position involves managing minor physician issues, escalating concerns as appropriate, and proactively identifying opportunities to enhance labor and delivery utilization in collaboration with hospital leadership.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee daily program operations to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality obstetrical care
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with hospital medical staff, nursing staff, and administrative leadership
- Nurture positive interactions within the physician and Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) OB hospitalist team
- Collaborate with Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, or Vice President of Clinical Operations to achieve clinical and operational targets
- Travel to the hospital as needed to address operational priorities and support clinicians
- Train and onboard new clinicians, fostering a supportive value-based culture
- Communicate and enforce clinical policies, procedures, and expectations across the team
- Manage and resolve minor physician issues, escalating complex matters as appropriate
- Identify and implement strategies to enhance labor and delivery service utilization
- Fulfill a minimum shift commitment of five 24-hour (or equivalent) OB hospitalist shifts per 28-day period

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified OB/GYN Physician (OB Hospitalist, OB/GYN)
- Licensed to practice medicine in the state of the assigned site
- Demonstrated ability to build strong rapport with hospital leadership, hospitalist teams, nurses, staff physicians, and corporate staff
- Significant experience with obstetrical emergency care preferred
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Commitment to upholding clinical policies and fostering a value-based care culture
