The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director) plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the highest quality of obstetric care within a hospital-based setting. This position is responsible for both direct clinical care and the operational oversight of the OB Hospitalist program, contributing to a value-based care culture. The OB Hospitalist Director will collaborate with hospital administration, nursing staff, and the OB Hospitalist team, ensuring that all clinical and operational objectives are met in alignment with organizational goals.
As an OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director), you will work closely with executive medical leadership, including the Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, and Vice President of Clinical Operations. This collaboration is essential for maintaining a high-performance clinical team, delivering exceptional patient outcomes, and achieving the hospital's operational targets. The OB Hospitalist Director is expected to travel as required to address operational priorities and foster positive relationships with all stakeholders involved in labor and delivery care.
Key responsibilities include overseeing program operations, facilitating the integration of hospitalist services with existing hospital workflows, developing and training new clinicians, and ensuring adherence to clinical policies and procedures. The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director) will also manage physician-related issues, escalate concerns as appropriate, and work collaboratively to identify strategies to increase labor and delivery utilization.
In this full-time leadership role, the OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director) will be scheduled for a minimum of five 24-hour (or equivalent) OB hospitalist shifts within each 28-day period. This commitment ensures consistent coverage and leadership presence, which is essential for maintaining program quality and continuity of care.
