The Director collaborates with a range of clinical and operational leaders—including the Market Medical Director (MMD), Medical Director of Operations (MDO), and Vice President of Clinical Operations (VPCO)—to fulfill both clinical and operational objectives set forth by the hospital and the organization. The OB Hospitalist Director is also responsible for nurturing the culture of value-based care, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, and fostering continuous professional development among the OB hospitalist team, which includes physicians and certified nurse midwives (CNMs).
The position requires a hands-on approach, with regular on-site presence to address hospital and hospitalist operational priorities. The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director) plays a pivotal role in training and mentoring new clinicians, enforcing clinical policies and procedures, and managing minor personnel issues. OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the OB hospitalist program, ensuring quality care delivery
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hospital medical staff, nursing staff, and administrative leadership
- Foster effective teamwork among the OB hospitalist team, including physicians and certified nurse midwives
- Collaborate with Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, and Vice President of Clinical Operations to meet clinical and operational goals
- Travel to the hospital as necessary to address operational priorities and support team members
- Train and mentor new clinicians in the value-based care model
- Communicate and enforce clinical policies, procedures, and expectations
- Manage and resolve minor physician issues, escalating as appropriate
- Identify and implement strategies to enhance labor and delivery utilization with hospital leadership
- Maintain compliance with relevant clinical standards and organizational policies

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified OB/GYN Physician (Obstetrics and Gynecology)
- Valid, unrestricted medical license in the state of assignment

- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience in obstetrical emergency care is preferred
