The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director) position is an integral leadership opportunity for board-certified obstetrician-gynecologists committed to delivering high-quality value-based care within an OB hospitalist program. This full-time role is designed for experienced clinicians who are passionate about advancing standards in obstetric care, building collaborative relationships, and shaping clinical operations to achieve both hospital and program objectives.
As an OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director), you will be responsible for overseeing program operations, ensuring adherence to clinical policies, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team including hospital medical staff, nursing teams, administrative leaders, and physician colleagues. You will play a key role in maintaining and elevating the quality of care, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and supporting the development and training of new clinicians in a value-based care environment. Reporting directly to senior medical leadership, you will work closely with market medical directors and other executive clinical leaders to drive performance and operational excellence within the OB hospitalist program.
This leadership role requires travel as needed to coordinate operational priorities and to address matters that support effective hospital and hospitalist performance. Your relationship-building skills and ability to manage and communicate expectations are vital in sustaining positive partnerships and advancing the goals of both the hospital and the OB hospitalist group. The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director) position is structured with a commitment to at least five 24-hour shifts per 28-day period, offering a unique balance of hands-on clinical practice and administrative leadership responsibilities.

OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director) - Summary- Lead and oversee the OB hospitalist program at the assigned hospital site
- Collaborate with hospital leadership and clinical teams to ensure delivery of quality care
- Train and mentor new clinicians in a value-based culture
- Report directly to senior medical and clinical operations leadership
- Balance clinical responsibilities with administrative oversight
- Ensure program operations support high-quality, value-based patient care
- Build and maintain effective relationships with medical staff, nursing teams, administrative leaders, and OB hospitalist colleagues
- Support and enforce clinical policies, procedures, and expectations
- Manage and address minor physician issues, escalating as appropriate
- Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities for increased labor and delivery utilization
- Travel to the hospital site as necessary to address operational priorities
- Train and develop new clinicians to uphold program culture and standards
- Complete a minimum of five 24-hour clinical shifts per 28-day period

- Active medical license to practice in the state of assignment

- Significant experience in obstetrical emergency care preferred
- Experienced OB/GYN physician with proven leadership capabilities
