OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director) - Summary
- Lead the daily operations of the OB Hospitalist program, ensuring delivery of high-quality, safe, and effective obstetric care.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the hospitalist team, hospital leadership, and administrative staff.
- Support and mentor clinicians in value-based cultural practices and continuous professional development.
- Directly report to the Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, or Vice President of Clinical Operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee program operations for the OB Hospitalist team, ensuring compliance with clinical and operational standards.
- Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with hospital medical staff, nursing teams, and administrative leaders.
- Foster positive working relationships within the OB/GYN hospitalist and CNM teams, promoting a culture of mutual respect and teamwork.
- Collaborate with executive clinical leadership to achieve both organizational and hospital-specific goals.
- Conduct regular onsite visits as needed to address operational priorities and support team members.
- Train, mentor, and develop new clinicians, instilling value-based care principles and organizational expectations.
- Communicate and enforce clinical policies, procedures, and performance expectations.
- Address and manage minor physician issues, escalating significant concerns to higher-level leadership as appropriate.
- Work with hospital and clinical leaders to identify opportunities for increasing labor and delivery utilization and optimizing patient care pathways.
- Fulfill a minimum of five 24-hour (or equivalent) OB hospitalist shifts per 28-day scheduling period.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified OB/GYN Physician (MD/DO) with valid and unrestricted medical license.
- Authorization to practice medicine in the relevant state.
- Proven ability to build strong rapport and positive working relationships with hospital leadership, hospitalist teams, nursing staff, and supporting personnel.
- Significant experience in obstetrical emergency care strongly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills required for team building and program management.
