This opportunity represents a leadership role for an experienced OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director) to oversee and enhance the clinical operations of a hospital-based obstetrics team. The OB Hospitalist Director is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, value-based care, while fostering a collaborative and cohesive working environment among physicians, certified nurse midwives, nursing staff, and administrative leaders. As an OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director), you will be instrumental in managing program operations and upholding clinical standards that support both the hospital’s and the organization’s strategic objectives. Reporting directly to senior clinical leadership, including the Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, or Vice President of Clinical Operations, you will act as the primary liaison between the OB Hospitalist team and hospital leadership. Your role will include building effective relationships with hospital staff, maintaining team morale, and ensuring all clinical policies and procedures are adhered to. The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director) will also play a critical part in onboarding and training new clinicians, reinforcing a culture focused on value-based care, and proactively addressing operational priorities as they arise.
In this position, you will be expected to participate in at least five 24-hour OB Hospitalist shifts (or equivalent) within each 28-day period, ensuring your expertise and leadership are consistently present within the clinical environment. Additional responsibilities include managing physician team issues at the local level and escalating matters as needed to senior medical leadership. The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director) will also work collaboratively with hospital administration and the OB Hospitalist team to identify and implement strategies aimed at optimizing labor and delivery department utilization and performance.
