The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director) is a key leadership role within the OB Hospitalist program, focused on ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality obstetrical care through effective program operations, team development, and collaborative hospital partnerships. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic clinical environment, providing hands-on patient care while also serving as the site director responsible for fostering a value-based culture, operational excellence, and clinical leadership within the OB Hospitalist team.
As an OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director), you will play a pivotal role in aligning hospitalist clinical goals with hospital operational objectives. You will oversee program operations to ensure quality care is delivered, build and maintain relationships with hospital medical and nursing staff, and serve as a critical liaison between the OB Hospitalist team and hospital leadership. This position reports to regional and corporate medical leadership, including the Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, or Vice President of Clinical Operations, and collaborates closely with these leaders to achieve clinical and operational targets.
The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director) also plays a significant role in team development by training and mentoring new clinicians, promoting a value-based approach to care, and enforcing clinical policies and procedures. The director is responsible for managing minor physician issues, escalating concerns as appropriate, and working with hospital and corporate leadership to optimize labor and delivery services. This position requires regular on-site presence to address operational priorities, as well as flexibility to support the team as needed.
In addition to leadership responsibilities, the OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director) maintains clinical proficiency by working at least five 24-hour (or equivalent) OB hospitalist shifts every 28-day period. This hands-on component ensures continued clinical excellence and engagement with both patients and the hospitalist team.

OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director) - Summary- Full-time leadership and clinical role within the OB Hospitalist program
- Direct and oversee program operations to ensure high-quality obstetrical care
- Maintain and build relationships with hospital staff, physicians, and administrators
- Collaborate with corporate and regional medical leadership to achieve clinical and operational objectives

- Direct daily program operations and ensure all clinical standards are met
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with medical, nursing, and administrative hospital staff
- Facilitate communication between the OB Hospitalist team and hospital leadership
- Train, mentor, and support new clinicians in value-based clinical practices
- Communicate and enforce clinical policies, procedures, and expectations
- Manage minor physician issues and escalate concerns as necessary
- Travel to the hospital as needed to address operational priorities and support the clinical team
- Collaborate to improve labor and delivery utilization and overall program performance

- Board Certified OB/GYN Physician (MD or DO)
- Active medical license in the assigned state
