OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director) - Summary
- Lead and manage the OB Hospitalist program to ensure delivery of high-quality, value-based obstetrical care.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the OB Hospitalist team, hospital leadership, and nursing staff.
- Mentor and support clinicians to achieve program goals and uphold clinical standards.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives that enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the OB Hospitalist program, ensuring quality and consistency in patient care.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with hospital medical staff, nursing teams, and administrative leadership.
- Foster collaboration among OB Hospitalist physicians, CNMs, and other healthcare professionals.
- Report directly to senior clinical leadership, including the Market Medical Director (MMD), Medical Director of Operations (MDO), or Vice President of Clinical Operations (VPCO).
- Collaborate with leadership to align clinical team performance with hospital and organization objectives.
- Travel to hospital sites as needed to address operational priorities and strengthen program integration.
- Train and develop new clinicians in the organization’s value-based culture, supporting their growth and professional development.
- Communicate and enforce clinical policies, procedures, and expectations to ensure compliance and consistency.
- Manage minor physician issues, escalating matters to senior leadership as appropriate.
- Identify opportunities to increase utilization and efficiency within Labor and Delivery units.
- Participate in a minimum of five (5) 24-hour (or equivalent) OB hospitalist shifts per 28-day period.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
- Active license to practice medicine in the state of the assigned site.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with hospital leaders, clinical teams, nurses, staff physicians, and organizational leadership.
- Experience in obstetrical emergency care is highly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and quality care.
