OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director)
This opportunity presents an impactful leadership role for a Board Certified OB/GYN physician to serve as an OB Hospitalist Director. The OB Hospitalist Director is responsible for overseeing the operational and clinical excellence of an OB Hospitalist program, ensuring that the highest standards of obstetric care and value-based healthcare delivery are met. Working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, this position is uniquely positioned for those with a passion for both direct patient care and program leadership. The OB Hospitalist Director will champion clinical best practices, foster strong relationships with hospital and clinical staff, and drive continuous improvement in labor and delivery services.
Working as an OB Hospitalist Director provides the opportunity to blend clinical expertise with strategic oversight. The individual in this role will play a key part in setting clinical expectations, guiding program operations, and supporting the professional development of OB Hospitalists and Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs) on the team. The position entails close collaboration with hospital administration, medical directors, and operations leadership to ensure organizational and clinical objectives are consistently achieved.
In addition to clinical leadership responsibilities, the OB Hospitalist Director will participate in the recruitment, training, and mentorship of new clinicians, instilling a culture of value-based, patient-centered care. The role also involves regular communication and alignment with hospital leadership to optimize labor and delivery utilization and maintain program excellence. The OB Hospitalist Director will be expected to serve a minimum of five 24-hour (or equivalent) OB hospitalist shifts every 28-day period, ensuring a robust presence in the clinical environment.

OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director) - Summary- Oversees OB Hospitalist program operations and clinical quality
- Leads and mentors a multidisciplinary clinical team
- Collaborates with hospital and organizational leadership
- Ensures delivery of value-based, patient-centered care
- Manage day-to-day program operations to ensure high-quality obstetric care
- Build and maintain positive relationships with hospital medical staff, nursing staff, and administrative leaders
- Foster a cohesive and collaborative OB Hospitalist and CNM team
- Report to Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, or Vice President of Clinical Operations
- Work closely with leadership to achieve clinical and operational objectives
- Travel to the hospital as needed to address operational priorities
- Train and develop new clinicians, promoting a value-based care culture
- Communicate and enforce clinical policies and expectations
- Manage minor physician issues and escalate as appropriate
- Identify strategies in collaboration with leadership to increase labor and delivery utilization
- Fulfill at least five 24-hour (or equivalent) OB hospitalist shifts per 28-day block

- Board Certified OB/GYN Physician
- Licensed to practice medicine in the applicable state

- Experience with obstetrical emergency care preferred
- Proven leader with experience in obstetric hospitalist settings
