The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director) is a key leadership role within the hospital’s obstetrics program, responsible for overseeing the operational and clinical excellence of the OB Hospitalist team. As a board-certified OB/GYN, the OB Hospitalist Director provides expert guidance, support, and mentorship to both physicians and certified nurse midwives (CNMs). This position plays a critical part in maintaining high-quality, value-based care and ensuring effective collaboration with medical staff, nursing teams, and hospital administration. The OB Hospitalist Director also works closely with senior clinical leadership to meet both organizational and hospital goals, focusing on patient safety, program integrity, and operational efficiency. OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director) - Summary
- Lead and manage the OB Hospitalist program to ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care
- Foster a value-based culture of collaboration, integrity, and clinical excellence
- Serve as the primary liaison between the hospitalist team and administrative leadership
- Support ongoing clinician education and professional development
- Collaborate with hospital leadership to optimize labor and delivery utilization
Duties & Responsibilities
- Direct all aspects of program operations to ensure quality and consistency in clinical care
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with hospital medical staff, nursing teams, and administrative leaders
- Maintain open communication channels with the physician and CNM OB Hospitalist team
- Report to and collaborate with the Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, or Vice President of Clinical Operations
- Ensure alignment and achievement of both organizational and hospital clinical and operational objectives
- Travel to the hospital as needed to address site-specific operational priorities
- Train and mentor new clinicians, fostering a value-based culture and adherence to clinical standards
- Communicate and enforce clinical policies, procedures, and performance expectations
- Manage minor physician issues, escalating to senior leadership as appropriate
- Collaborate with hospital leadership and directors to identify ways to enhance labor and delivery services

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board-certified OB/GYN physician
- Licensed to practice medicine in the assigned state
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with hospital leadership, hospitalist teams, nurses, staff physicians, and organizational staff
- Experience in obstetrical emergency care preferred
