The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director) is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the daily operations and clinical performance of an OB Hospitalist program. This position is ideal for a board-certified OB/GYN physician who is passionate about delivering high-quality, value-based maternal care and fostering collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director) plays a pivotal role in ensuring exceptional patient outcomes, supporting clinical staff development, and maintaining strong relationships with hospital administration and medical professionals.
As the OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director), you will be a key member of the clinical leadership team, ensuring that operational and clinical objectives are met in alignment with both organizational and hospital standards. This role requires a commitment to maintaining a culture of excellence, continuous quality improvement, and effective communication with all stakeholders involved in maternal care delivery.

OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Site Director) - Summary
- Oversee site-level OB Hospitalist program operations
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of OB Hospitalists and Certified Nurse Midwives
- Promote quality, safety, and value-based care within the department
- Serve as the liaison between clinical teams, hospital leadership, and corporate leadership
- Maintain compliance with clinical policies and procedures
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage daily clinical operations to ensure consistent delivery of quality obstetric care
- Build and sustain productive relationships with hospital medical staff, nursing staff, and administrative leaders
- Foster strong connections within the OB Hospitalist and Certified Nurse Midwife teams
- Report directly to the Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, or Vice President of Clinical Operations
- Collaborate with leadership to achieve clinical and operational goals for both the organization and partner hospital
- Travel as needed to the hospital site for program oversight and to address operational issues
- Onboard, train, and support new clinical staff in adopting a value-based care culture
- Communicate and enforce clinical protocols, performance expectations, and policies
- Address and resolve minor physician or staff issues, escalating complex matters to senior leadership as necessary
- Work with hospital and corporate leadership to identify opportunities for increasing labor and delivery utilization
- Work a minimum of five 24-hour (or equivalent) OB Hospitalist shifts per 28-day cycle

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified OB/GYN Physician (MD or DO)
- Active medical license in the assigned state of practice
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive working relationships with physicians, nurses, hospital leaders, and corporate staff
- Experience managing or working in obstetrical emergency care (preferred)
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and value-based care
