OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Hospitalist Director) - Summary
- Leadership role overseeing the OB hospitalist program and clinical operations
- Focus on delivering quality, value-based maternal health care
- Acts as a liaison between hospitalist teams and hospital administration
- Responsible for fostering strong, collaborative relationships across all stakeholders

Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee daily program operations to ensure delivery of high-quality obstetric care
- Build and maintain productive relationships with hospital medical staff, nursing staff, and administrative leadership
- Support and develop the OB hospitalist physician and certified nurse midwife (CNM) team
- Report directly to senior clinical leadership, including the Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, or Vice President of Clinical Operations
- Collaborate with leadership to achieve both clinical and operational objectives set by the organization and hospital
- Travel to the hospital as needed to address operational priorities and provide on-site support
- Train and mentor new clinicians to reinforce a value-based care culture
- Communicate, implement, and enforce clinical policies, procedures, and expectations
- Address and manage minor physician issues, escalating as appropriate
- Work with hospital leadership and clinical operations to increase utilization of Labor and Delivery services
- Regularly complete at least five 24-hour (or equivalent) OB hospitalist shifts during each 28-day period

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board-certified OB/GYN physician
- Licensed to practice medicine in the relevant state
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to foster positive working partnerships with hospital leadership, clinical teams, and administrative staff
- Significant experience in obstetrical emergency care is preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and value-based health care delivery
