The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Hospitalist Director) is responsible for operational excellence, clinical team management, and the professional development of new clinicians. Your leadership will directly contribute to patient safety, provider engagement, and the continuous improvement of labor and delivery service lines.
As an OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Hospitalist Director), you will also have the opportunity to shape the hospital’s labor and delivery utilization strategies, support compliance with clinical policies and procedures, and ensure a culture of quality, accountability, and teamwork. OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN Hospitalist Director) - Summary
- Lead program operations to ensure delivery of high-quality, value-based obstetric care.
- Foster relationships with hospital medical staff, nursing teams, administrative leaders, and the OB hospitalist team.
- Collaborate with the Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, and Vice President of Clinical Operations.
- Champion a culture of accountability, clinical excellence, and teamwork.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day operations of the OB hospitalist program to ensure quality care delivery.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with hospital medical staff, nursing staff, and administrative leadership.
- Maintain strong connections with the OB hospitalist physician and Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) team.
- Report to and collaborate with the Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, or Vice President of Clinical Operations.
- Work closely with hospital leadership and corporate operations to align clinical and operational objectives.
- Travel to the hospital as needed to address operational priorities and support the team.
- Train and mentor new clinicians, instilling a value-based culture.
- Communicate and enforce clinical policies, procedures, and expectations.
- Manage minor physician issues and escalate concerns as appropriate.
- Collaborate on strategies to increase labor and delivery utilization and optimize service delivery.
- Provide direct patient care as an OB hospitalist for at least five 24-hour shifts (or equivalent) per 28-day period.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
- Active medical license to practice medicine in the assigned state.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong rapport and positive working relationships with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Experience in obstetrical emergency care strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
