This full-time opportunity places the OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN) at the forefront of hospital-based obstetric services. The role includes working closely with hospital medical staff, nursing personnel, administrative leadership, and the OB Hospitalist team, including certified nurse midwives (CNMs). The Director will report to key operational leaders such as the Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, or Vice President of Clinical Operations, collaborating to align clinical practices with institutional and organizational goals.
As the OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN), you will lead by example, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality maternal care. The position also involves training and developing new clinicians to support a culture grounded in value-based care. This includes communicating and upholding clinical policies and procedures, addressing minor physician issues, and escalating complex matters to higher leadership as necessary. The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN) will also have a direct impact on hospital operations by identifying and implementing strategies to optimize labor and delivery utilization, fostering an environment where patient safety and satisfaction are paramount.
Clinicians in this role are required to commit to a minimum of five 24-hour (or equivalent) hospitalist shifts within each 28-day period, ensuring comprehensive coverage and continuity of care. The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN) must also be available for on-site leadership duties as needed to address operational priorities, support staff, and maintain effective communication with hospital leadership and the broader clinical team.
