The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN) reports directly to upper-level clinical leadership, collaborating closely with Market Medical Directors, Medical Directors of Operations, and Vice Presidents of Clinical Operations. This structure supports ongoing professional growth and provides a robust platform for optimizing clinical and operational performance. The role also requires occasional on-site presence to address hospital priorities and to ensure seamless program operations.
In addition to clinical oversight, you will actively participate in the training and development of new team members, communicate and enforce clinical policies, and serve as a resource for resolving minor physician issues. OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN) - Summary
- Lead and support a dedicated team of OB hospitalists
- Champion value-based, high-quality obstetric care initiatives
- Bridge communication between clinicians, hospital administration, and corporate leadership
- Provide hands-on support, training, and guidance to new clinicians
- Directly influence patient safety, clinical outcomes, and program operations
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure high-quality obstetric and gynecological care is consistently delivered
- Oversee program operations and maintain relationships with medical and nursing staff, hospital administration, and the OB hospitalist team
- Report to and collaborate with Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, or Vice President of Clinical Operations
- Work with leadership to align clinical team efforts with organization and hospital objectives
- Travel to hospital sites as needed to address operational priorities
- Train and develop new clinicians in value-based care principles
- Communicate and enforce clinical policies, procedures, and expectations
- Manage minor physician issues and escalate when necessary
- Collaborate with hospital leaders to enhance labor and delivery utilization
- Fulfill a minimum of five (5) 24-hour hospitalist shifts per 28-day period

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified OB/GYN Physician
- Licensed to practice medicine in the applicable state
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders
- Experience managing or leading clinical teams preferred
- Significant experience with obstetrical emergency care preferred
