The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN) serves as a pivotal leader within the OB Hospitalist clinical team, championing the delivery of a high-quality, value-based OB Hospitalist program. This full-time leadership position is responsible for overseeing program operations, fostering collaboration among healthcare professionals, and ensuring that clinical and operational goals are consistently met. As an OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN), you will play a vital role in advancing maternal and fetal health by managing team performance, driving operational excellence, and maintaining strong relationships with hospital staff and administration.
In this OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN) role, you will report directly to a Market Medical Director (MMD), Medical Director of Operations (MDO), or Vice President of Clinical Operations (VPCO). You will collaborate closely with these leaders, as well as the physician and CNM hospitalist teams, to ensure the highest standards of patient care. The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN) is also responsible for onboarding and mentoring new clinicians, communicating and upholding clinical policies, and serving as a key liaison between clinical and administrative teams. This position requires occasional travel to the hospital site to address operational priorities and support ongoing program success.

OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN) - Summary
- Key leadership role within the OB Hospitalist clinical team
- Responsible for program operations and quality care delivery
- Reports to Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, or Vice President of Clinical Operations
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to achieve clinical and operational objectives
- Leads and develops OB Hospitalist clinicians in a value-based care culture
- Acts as a liaison between hospital administration and clinical staff
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day program operations and ensure delivery of quality obstetric care
- Build and maintain positive relationships with hospital medical staff, nursing staff, and administrative leadership
- Foster strong rapport with the OB Hospitalist physician and CNM team
- Collaborate with leadership teams (MMD, MDO, VPCO) to align program objectives
- Travel to hospital as needed to address operational priorities and maintain program standards
- Train, mentor, and support new clinicians in the value-based care model
- Communicate and enforce clinical policies, procedures, and expectations
- Address minor physician issues and escalate to leadership as necessary
- Work with hospital leadership and teams to optimize Labor and Delivery utilization
- Fulfill at least five (5) 24-hour (or equivalent) OB hospitalist shifts per 28-day period

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified OB/GYN Physician (MD or DO)
- Valid medical license for the state of assignment
- Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with hospital leadership, clinicians, nurses, and staff
- Significant experience with obstetrical emergency care preferred
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
