The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN) is a leadership position within a hospital-based obstetrics team, responsible for overseeing the clinical and operational excellence of the OB Hospitalist program. The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN) collaborates closely with the Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, and other hospital leadership to drive continuous improvement, compliance, and optimal outcomes for mothers and newborns. As an OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN), you will be instrumental in driving operational efficiency and clinical quality within the OB Hospitalist program. This includes providing guidance to both physician and certified nurse midwife hospitalists, ensuring adherence to clinical policies, and addressing operational priorities as they arise. Your leadership will be vital in training new clinicians, maintaining a value-based culture, and managing the day-to-day operations that keep the program running smoothly. The position requires a minimum of five 24-hour shifts per 28-day period, ensuring your active engagement and direct impact on patient care as well as team development.

OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN) - Summary- Lead the OB Hospitalist program, ensuring delivery of high-quality, value-based obstetric care
- Oversee daily operations and program objectives in collaboration with hospital leadership
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clinical and administrative staff
- Provide mentorship and training to new clinicians
- Manage and resolve minor physician issues, escalating as appropriate
- Contribute to labor and delivery program growth and utilization
- Supervise the operational delivery of the OB Hospitalist program
- Maintain effective communication with hospital medical staff, nursing staff, and leadership teams
- Develop and enforce clinical policies, procedures, and expectations
- Collaborate with the Market Medical Director and Medical Director of Operations to achieve program goals
- Train and develop new clinicians in accordance with value-based care principles
- Address hospital and hospitalist operational priorities, traveling to the hospital as needed
- Manage and resolve minor physician issues, escalating to the appropriate leadership when necessary
- Identify strategies to increase labor and delivery service utilization

- Board Certified OB/GYN Physician
- Active medical license to practice in the relevant state
- Demonstrated experience in obstetrical emergency care (preferred)
- Exceptional relational and communication skills with ability to build positive relationships with hospital leadership, hospitalists, nurses, staff physicians, and corporate personnel
- Proven leadership experience in a hospital-based OB/GYN setting
- Strong commitment to quality, safety, and value-based patient care
