The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN) works closely with hospital medical and nursing staff, administrative leadership, and the broader clinical team. In this role, you will report directly to senior medical leadership, such as the Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, or Vice President of Clinical Operations. Collaboration and communication are key components, as you will ensure that all stakeholders are aligned in delivering exceptional OB hospitalist services.
This position involves both scheduled clinical shifts and leadership responsibilities, including training new clinicians, managing clinical policies, and fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement. The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN) may be required to travel to the hospital as necessary to address operational priorities and maintain program integrity. OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the OB hospitalist program to ensure delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with hospital medical staff, nursing staff, and hospital administrative leaders.
- Cultivate strong connections with the physician and certified nurse-midwife (CNM) OB hospitalist team.
- Report to and collaborate with senior medical leadership to align clinical and operational objectives.
- Travel to the hospital as needed to address program and operational priorities.
- Train and mentor new clinicians, promoting a Value-Based care mindset.
- Communicate and implement clinical policies, procedures, and performance expectations.
- Address minor physician issues and escalate concerns as appropriate to senior leadership.
- Work with hospital leadership to identify strategies for increasing labor and delivery utilization.
- Fulfill clinical shift requirements, including a minimum of five 24-hour (or equivalent) OB hospitalist shifts per 28-day period.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
- Current, unrestricted medical license to practice as a physician in the assigned state.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive, collaborative relationships with hospital leadership, clinical teams, and support staff.
- Significant experience in obstetrical emergency care (preferred).
- Commitment to upholding clinical standards and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
