The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN) works closely with hospital medical and nursing staff, administrative leadership, and the broader clinical team. In this role, you will report directly to senior medical leadership, such as the Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, or Vice President of Clinical Operations. Collaboration and communication are key components, as you will ensure that all stakeholders are aligned in delivering exceptional OB hospitalist services.
This position involves both scheduled clinical shifts and leadership responsibilities, including training new clinicians, managing clinical policies, and fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement. The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN) may be required to travel to the hospital as necessary to address operational priorities and maintain program integrity. OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN) - Summary- Leadership opportunity for an experienced Board Certified OB/GYN physician.
- Responsible for overseeing program operations, quality initiatives, and clinical team performance within the OB hospitalist service.
- Integral role in building relationships with hospital leadership and multidisciplinary teams.
- Key driver of Value-Based care culture and program objectives.
- Full-time, hospital-based position with both clinical and administrative responsibilities.
- Oversee daily operations of the OB hospitalist program to ensure delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with hospital medical staff, nursing staff, and hospital administrative leaders.
- Cultivate strong connections with the physician and certified nurse-midwife (CNM) OB hospitalist team.
- Report to and collaborate with senior medical leadership to align clinical and operational objectives.
- Travel to the hospital as needed to address program and operational priorities.
- Train and mentor new clinicians, promoting a Value-Based care mindset.
- Communicate and implement clinical policies, procedures, and performance expectations.
- Address minor physician issues and escalate concerns as appropriate to senior leadership.
- Work with hospital leadership to identify strategies for increasing labor and delivery utilization.
- Fulfill clinical shift requirements, including a minimum of five 24-hour (or equivalent) OB hospitalist shifts per 28-day period.

- Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
- Current, unrestricted medical license to practice as a physician in the assigned state.

- Significant experience in obstetrical emergency care (preferred).

- Experienced OB/GYN physician with strong leadership and communication skills.
