OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN) - Summary
- Leadership position overseeing OB hospitalist program operations and clinical teams
- Reports to senior medical leadership (Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, or VP of Clinical Operations)
- Acts as liaison between hospitalist staff, hospital administration, and organizational leadership
- Combines clinical shifts with administrative and operational duties
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure effective program operations to maintain the highest standards of obstetric care
- Establish and nurture relationships with hospital medical staff, nursing staff, and administrative leaders
- Maintain ongoing collaboration and communication with the OB/GYN hospitalist team, including physicians and Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs)
- Participate in regular meetings with senior medical leadership to align on clinical and operational goals
- Travel to hospital sites as needed to address operational or clinical priorities
- Train, mentor, and support new clinicians, embedding a value-based care culture
- Communicate and enforce clinical policies, procedures, and expectations across the OB hospitalist team
- Manage minor physician issues and escalate more complex concerns as appropriate
- Collaborate with hospital leadership and operations teams to increase utilization of labor and delivery services
- Fulfill a minimum of five 24-hour (or equivalent) OB hospitalist shifts per 28-day cycle

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN)
- Current medical license in the state of practice
- Demonstrated ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders, including hospital leadership, clinical teams, and administrative staff
- Significant experience in obstetrical emergency care (preferred)
