The OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN) serves as a crucial liaison between hospital leadership, medical directors, and the clinical OB hospitalist team. Your leadership will be instrumental in supporting program operations, maintaining clinical standards, and nurturing the professional growth of clinicians. You will be responsible for communicating and upholding clinical policies and expectations while working to enhance labor and delivery service utilization and patient outcomes. This role requires travel to the assigned hospital as necessary to address key operational priorities and to support hospitalist teams in real time.
As part of your responsibilities, you will train and mentor new clinicians, promote the organization's value-based culture, and ensure that both OB hospitalist and hospital goals are consistently met. OB Hospitalist Director (OB/GYN) - Summary
- Lead OB hospitalist program operations within a hospital setting
- Collaborate with hospital medical staff, nursing staff, and administrative leadership
- Maintain and support relationships with physician and certified nurse-midwife (CNM) hospitalist teams
- Report to the Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, or Vice President of Clinical Operations
- Serve as a mentor and trainer for new clinicians in the value-based care model
- Travel to the assigned hospital as needed to address operational priorities
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee daily OB hospitalist program operations to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality patient care
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with hospital medical staff, nursing staff, and administrative leaders
- Mentor and train new clinicians, instilling the organization’s value-based culture
- Communicate and enforce clinical policies, procedures, and performance expectations
- Address minor physician issues and escalate complex matters as appropriate
- Collaborate with hospital leadership and clinical directors to improve labor and delivery service utilization
- Ensure the clinical team achieves organizational and hospital clinical and operational objectives
- Participate in a minimum of five 24-hour (or equivalent) OB hospitalist shifts per 28-day period

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN)
- Active medical license in the state of the clinical site
- Demonstrated experience in obstetrical emergency care (preferred)
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including hospital leadership and corporate staff
