We are seeking an experienced and dedicated OB/GYN Physician (OBGYN) for ongoing contract coverage in Newark, NJ. The OB/GYN Physician (OBGYN) role encompasses a wide range of clinical responsibilities, including labor and delivery coverage, outpatient clinic care, and surgical procedures. The contract role offers 12-24 hour shifts in labor and delivery, as well as 8-hour shifts in both a Women's Health Center and a private OB/GYN practice. There are also significant opportunities for GYN surgery, including open, laparoscopic, and robotic approaches.
As an OB/GYN Physician (OBGYN), you will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload, addressing both obstetric emergencies and routine gynecological cases. The clinical environment is fast-paced, with a clinic patient load averaging 35 patients per day, and is supported by a multidisciplinary team including Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs), Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs), Registered Nurses (RNs), Medical Assistants (MAs), Ultrasound Technicians, and Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialists available on-site three days per week. Certified Nurse Midwife support is also present in Labor and Delivery, ensuring collaborative patient care and optimal outcomes.
The OB/GYN Physician (OBGYN) will utilize leading electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as SCM and GE for documentation and care coordination. The schedule includes variable 12-24 hour shifts in Labor & Delivery and 8-hour shifts in the clinic, with no on-call requirements. This structure allows for greater flexibility and work-life balance while still delivering high-quality care to patients.
