As a Nurse Practitioner – Pulmonary Transplant (NP, ACNP, FNP), you will play an essential role within a specialized team of physicians, surgeons, advanced practice providers, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals. The main focus is delivering high-quality care to patients affected by acute and chronic respiratory conditions, such as acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, bronchiectasis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cystic fibrosis, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, interstitial lung disease, and pulmonary hypertension. Your responsibilities will include coordinating inpatient care, collaborating closely with the lung transplant team, and, as needed, supporting care in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU).
This full-time position is structured on a three 12-hour night shifts per week schedule, providing you with a consistent and predictable workweek. The contract is initially set for six months, offering a chance to develop advanced expertise in pulmonary and transplant care, with the potential for extension based on mutual agreement. Candidates with prior experience in pulmonary or critical care settings will find their skills highly valued in this role.
Qualified candidates must possess an active California Nurse Practitioner license and be prepared to start work in early to mid-November. The role is open to both Acute Care Nurse Practitioners (ACNP) and Family Nurse Practitioners (FNP) who have the clinical background to thrive in a specialized pulmonary environment.
