Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA) – Primary Care Overview
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) to join a dynamic primary care team at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). This full-time opportunity offers a supportive, collaborative work environment and the chance to make a meaningful impact by providing high-quality outpatient care. Located in Northern California, this position offers an excellent quality of life with no on-call responsibilities and the ability to work alongside experienced physicians and advanced practice providers.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive primary care services to a diverse patient population in a 100% outpatient setting.
- Conduct patient assessments, perform physical examinations, diagnose health conditions, and develop effective treatment plans.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and provide preventive care and health education to patients.
- Collaborate closely with a team of physicians and other advanced practice providers to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Document all patient interactions, evaluations, and procedures accurately in the electronic health record.
- Manage a daily patient load of 18-20 individuals, ensuring high-quality, timely, and efficient care delivery.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the primary care practice.
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of California.
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Board certification as a NP or PA in primary care or a related field, as applicable.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Commitment to providing inclusive, patient-centered care to diverse populations.
Schedule
- Full-time role preferred (40 hours per week), with flexible scheduling options available, including consideration for candidates able to work at least 30 hours per week.
- Most full-time providers work four days per week, allowing for work-life balance and flexibility.
- No on-call duties required.
