Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Orthopedics (NP/PA Orthopedics) Summary
- Contract, full-time position with a focus on orthopedic surgery patient care
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team specializing in total knee and hip procedures
- Manage pre-operative, post-operative, and follow-up patient visits
- Perform cortisone injections and interpret X-rays as part of routine patient management
- Participate in a rotating practice call schedule
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff for optimal patient outcomes
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments for patients scheduled for orthopedic procedures
- Manage post-operative care, including wound checks, pain management, and patient education
- Lead follow-up visits to monitor recovery and address patient concerns
- Administer cortisone injections and perform joint aspirations as needed
- Interpret and review X-rays to support clinical decision-making
- Document all patient encounters in the electronic medical record system accurately and timely
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team
- Participate in weekly practice call rotation, providing after-hours support as scheduled
- Adhere to clinical protocols, safety standards, and best practices
- Maintain current knowledge of orthopedic trends and best practices through ongoing education

Qualifications & Requirements
- Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) certification
- Demonstrated clinical experience in orthopedic settings, with direct involvement in surgical procedures preferred
- Proficiency in performing cortisone injections and interpreting X-rays
- Strong competency in pre-op, post-op, and follow-up patient management
- Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills
