Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Oncology (NP/PA, APP) Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physical assessments and diagnostic evaluations for oncology and hematology patients
- Develop, implement, and adjust individualized care and treatment plans in collaboration with physicians
- Manage chemotherapy and other therapeutic regimens, including monitoring for adverse effects and complications
- Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment options, side effect management, and ongoing care requirements
- Interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies relevant to oncology and hematology
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and tumor boards as required
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, and interventions accurately in the electronic medical record
- Coordinate care with other healthcare providers and support services
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the department

Qualifications & Requirements
- Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Current national certification as NP or PA (AANP, ANCC, NCCPA, or equivalent)
- Experience in oncology, hematology, or related internal medicine specialty preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and patient education abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting
