Nurse Practitioner – Oncology NP Summary
As a Nurse Practitioner – Oncology NP, you will utilize your advanced clinical skills to assess, diagnose, and manage the care of breast oncology patients. You’ll work within the scope of your certification and licensure, providing direct patient care, managing treatment plans, and ensuring seamless communication across the multidisciplinary team. Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations, for individuals with breast cancer.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist in the evaluation, treatment, and management of oncology patients.
- Document findings, write progress notes, and maintain accurate electronic medical records for all patient encounters in compliance with organizational standards.
- Order and interpret laboratory, imaging, and diagnostic tests, and communicate results effectively to patients and the care team.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans in collaboration with oncologists and other healthcare providers.
- Educate patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, procedures, and ongoing care needs, ensuring all questions are answered with empathy and clarity.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case reviews, and care planning sessions to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
- Provide on-call and weekend coverage as assigned through the oncology practice rotation.
- Serve as a first point of contact for the oncology centralized triage system, efficiently addressing patient concerns and coordinating care as needed.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support high-quality patient care and center operations.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current and valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) license with certification in Oncology (preferred) or relevant experience in a breast oncology setting.
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
