The role of Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA) – Neurohospitalist presents an outstanding opportunity for experienced advanced practice providers seeking to make a significant impact in neurocritical care. This full-time night shift position is situated within a renowned health system in Palm Springs, CA, and is a vital part of a newly established, comprehensive neurohospitalist service line. The team is dedicated to delivering rapid response care for acute neurological emergencies, including stroke and neurosurgery cases, across the continuum of neurocritical care.
As a Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA) – Neurohospitalist, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to address neurovascular emergencies and acute strokes. The program is designed to provide 24/7 comprehensive neurocritical coverage, with the addition of night rotations to enhance patient outcomes and support the hospital’s commitment to excellence in neurological care. Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA) – Neurohospitalist Summary- Full-time night shift role in a comprehensive neurocritical care service line

- Provide advanced clinical care for patients with acute neurological emergencies, including stroke and neurosurgery cases
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care
- Conduct thorough neurological assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop care plans
- Initiate and manage acute interventions in accordance with established protocols
- Participate in neurocritical care rounds and provide patient/family education
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical guidelines and quality improvement initiatives
- Support staff training and continuing education efforts within the neurohospitalist program
- Competitive salary range: $140,000 – $230,000

- Master’s degree required (NP or PA)
- Active and unrestricted California State License
- Board certified or board eligible as an Advanced Practice Provider (Acute Care certification required for NPs)
- DEA certification for controlled substances (Schedules II-V)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Minimum one (1) year of experience with acute stroke and other neurovascular emergencies
- Preferred background in ICU, hospitalist, emergency medicine, or neurosurgery
- Demonstrates advanced clinical skills and critical thinking in neurocritical care settings
- Works effectively in high-pressure, multidisciplinary environments
- Exhibits strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Is committed to ongoing professional development and quality improvement
- Possesses a passion for delivering exceptional neurological care
