Nurse Practitioner – Hospitalist (NP, Hospitalist NP) Summary
- Provide comprehensive, patient-centered care as part of an elite hospitalist program.
- Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Utilize advanced clinical skills and expertise in acute and ambulatory care settings.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed patient assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the hospitalist team.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe appropriate medications, and manage treatment regimens for hospitalized patients.
- Document patient progress, coordinate discharge planning, and ensure care transitions are smooth and patient-focused.
- Serve as a resource for patient education and family communication, promoting understanding and engagement in care decisions.
- Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives and clinical meetings to enhance patient care standards.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based practice guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree required.
- Active and unrestricted state Nurse Practitioner license.
- Current Nurse Practitioner Furnishing (NPF) license number.
- Active board certification as a Nurse Practitioner. Adult Acute Care or Adult Gerontological Acute Care board certification required for inpatient clinical care assignments.
- Active DEA certificate for controlled substances (II-V).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Experience as a Nurse Practitioner in acute or ambulatory care, preferably within a hospitalist or inpatient setting.
