Neurosurgery Physician Assistant (PA-C) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive inpatient coverage, including daily rounds and acute patient management
- Support outpatient clinic operations by evaluating, diagnosing, and managing neurosurgical patients under attending supervision
- Assist in the operating room with surgical procedures as a first assist, when required
- Independently remove surgical drains and participate in other bedside procedures as delegated
- Collaborate with attending neurosurgeons, nursing staff, and other APPs to ensure continuity of care
- Document patient encounters and updates accurately within the Epic EMR system
- Participate in rotating weekday and weekend coverage as required by the schedule
- Contribute to patient and family education regarding neurosurgical conditions and recovery processes

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA-C certification
- Active BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications
- Minimum of 1-2 years of neurosurgery experience, with Level 1 Trauma and neuro-trauma exposure strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to perform surgical drain removal independently
- Familiarity with Epic EMR or a similar electronic medical record system
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
