Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history, physical exam, and neurological evaluations.
- Assist neurosurgeons during operative procedures, including preparation, instrumentation, and closure as appropriate.
- Provide ongoing post-operative and critical care management in the ICU, including monitoring vital signs, managing drains and catheters, and responding to changes in patient status.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as imaging studies and laboratory results.
- Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with supervising physicians and the care team.
- Participate in rounds, case discussions, and multidisciplinary meetings to ensure coordinated and effective care delivery.
- Document all patient encounters, interventions, and treatments accurately and in accordance with hospital policies.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, post-operative care, and discharge planning.
- Maintain compliance with all hospital protocols, infection control measures, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant as required by state regulations.
- Previous experience in neurosurgery, critical care, trauma, or a related field is highly desirable but not mandatory for all positions.
