Neurosurgery Physician Assistant (PA-C)
We are currently seeking an experienced Neurosurgery Physician Assistant (PA-C) for a rewarding contract opportunity serving adult patients in a high-performing neurosurgery practice. This practice is renowned for its comprehensive neurosurgical care, comprised of a collaborative team of four neurosurgeons and four advanced practice providers. The Neurosurgery Physician Assistant (PA-C) will be an integral part of this dynamic and supportive environment, delivering high-quality care and making a significant impact on patient outcomes.
This Neurosurgery Physician Assistant (PA-C) position offers a balanced mix of responsibilities, with approximately 50% of the role dedicated to inpatient rounding and operating room support, and the remaining 50% focused on outpatient clinic duties. The ideal candidate is comfortable adapting to both settings and excels in providing compassionate, evidence-based care to adult patients. Working with a certified stroke center and without trauma responsibilities, the Neurosurgery Physician Assistant (PA-C) will have the opportunity to focus on specialized neurosurgical cases in a structured, collegial atmosphere.
Call coverage is a shared responsibility among the Physician Assistant team. During weekdays, call is rotated with 1-2 Physician Assistants sharing call duties from Monday through Thursday, always with the support of a designated on-call neurosurgeon. Weekend call is structured as a 1:4 rotation, involving one Physician Assistant and one physician, with less than 25% of responsibilities requiring in-person presence. This schedule is designed to provide robust support while promoting work-life balance for the Neurosurgery Physician Assistant (PA-C).
Applicants must possess an active state license and current board certification. Prior experience in neurosurgery as a Physician Assistant is highly valued, as is a strong commitment to patient-centered care and the ability to work efficiently in both inpatient and outpatient environments. The Neurosurgery Physician Assistant (PA-C) must be available for full-time hours and ready to contribute immediately to this established practice.
This contract role is structured as a 1099 position, with all travel expenses covered. The initial contract term is 13 weeks, with the potential for extension based on mutual agreement and practice needs.
