Typical patient census includes 8-10 patients in the ICU and 12-14 in the stepdown unit, offering ample opportunity to contribute significantly to patient recovery and progress. Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including neurological and physical examinations
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for neurosurgical and neurocritical patients
- Perform diagnostic procedures and interpret results as part of the care team
- Initiate and manage treatment protocols in collaboration with neurosurgeons and intensivists
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and recovery processes
- Document all patient care activities accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to team-based patient care discussions

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with prescriptive authority
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) certification required
- Experience in neurosurgery, neurocritical care, ICU, or stroke management preferred
- Ability to work 13-hour night shifts on a full-time basis
