Neurology Physician Assistant (PA) / Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Summary
- Provide comprehensive neurological care to patients in both inpatient and critical care settings.
- Work collaboratively with neurologists and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Serve as a key clinical resource for patients, families, and staff regarding neurological disorders and treatments.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including history-taking and neurological examinations.
- Order, interpret, and act upon diagnostic tests such as MRI, CT scans, EEGs, and laboratory results.
- Develop individualized care plans in consultation with supervising physicians and specialists.
- Initiate and manage acute interventions for neurological emergencies (e.g., stroke, seizure, intracranial hemorrhage).
- Monitor patients in critical care units, adjusting therapies as clinically indicated.
- Document care activities accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record.
- Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment options, and prognoses.
- Participate in patient rounds, case reviews, and quality assurance initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current and unrestricted Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license.
- Graduation from an accredited PA or NP program.
- Board certification as a PA or NP.
- Experience in neurology and/or critical care preferred; new graduates with relevant rotations or training will be considered.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
