Neurology Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Outpatient Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive neurological assessments and obtain patient histories
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as MRIs, CT scans, and EEGs
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with neurological disorders
- Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Collaborate with neurologists and other medical professionals for optimal patient care
- Educate patients and families about neurological conditions, treatments, and preventative care
- Document all patient encounters accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Participate in case conferences and team meetings to discuss patient progress and care strategies
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in neurology and evidence-based practices
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational policies

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current and valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) license
- Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) required
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in neurology or a related clinical specialty preferred
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
