Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough neurological assessments and monitor critically ill patients
- Develop, implement, and adjust care plans in collaboration with neurointensivists and attending physicians
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including neuroimaging and laboratory studies
- Initiate and manage advanced therapeutic interventions, such as ventilator management, intracranial pressure monitoring, and seizure management
- Perform procedures as credentialed, such as lumbar punctures and arterial line placements
- Document patient care activities and progress in the electronic medical record
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and care team meetings
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and recovery expectations
- Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives within the NeuroICU

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with prescriptive authority
- Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with relevant neurocritical care experience
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience in intensive care or neurology preferred
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Demonstrated expertise in the management of critically ill neurological patients
