Network Systems Administrator - Summary
The Network Systems Administrator is responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining network and computer systems, with a focus on security, compliance, and high availability. The successful candidate will bring expertise in Microsoft Windows Server environments, virtualization technologies, and enterprise networking, while adhering to Department of Defense (DoD) standards and best practices. The position supports a variety of technical environments, including multi-network and network storage platforms, and requires a strong understanding of system patching, troubleshooting, and end-user support.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Evaluate and determine hardware, software, and systems specifications, ensuring all configuration requirements are met.
- Perform regular patching, maintenance, and compliance checks on assigned systems to maintain optimal security and performance.
- Plan, install, configure, and troubleshoot systems such as Microsoft Hyper-V, Microsoft Server 2008 R2, Server 2012 R2, Server 2016, and associated client products across multiple network environments.
- Provide comprehensive technical support to users, including account management, enterprise and desktop application troubleshooting, and peripheral support.
- Collaborate closely with the Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) on data transfers and secure media creation.
- Coordinate user account creation, modification, and access management, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
- Support additional hardware and software initiatives as assigned, adapting to evolving IT project requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Must be a US citizen with current Top-Secret Clearance, including SCI eligibility and the ability to access Special Access Program Information.
- Compliance with DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II or higher required.
- Minimum of a high school diploma and 10 years of relevant IT experience, or a bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least 8 years of experience.
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, MS Hyper-V, enterprise networking, forensic analysis, or scripting.
- Experience in IT technical support within the defense industry, working with both military and civilian personnel.
- Familiarity with IT systems and operations in a government or military setting is highly valued.
