Network Security Engineer (NSE) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Engineer, maintain, and tune SIEM platforms, ensuring optimal detection capabilities and content accuracy.
- Configure and optimize IDS/IPS technologies, including the development of custom signatures and minimizing false positives.
- Conduct in-depth packet capture analysis and network traffic analysis to identify and respond to malicious activities.
- Support SOC operations by contributing to detection engineering, onboarding of log sources, and data normalization efforts.
- Develop, implement, and maintain network security monitoring infrastructure and orchestration workflows.
- Consistently document findings, procedures, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing within the team.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Security Operations Center (SOC) environments.
- Proven hands-on expertise with IDS/IPS platforms, such as Cisco Firepower and TippingPoint, including signature tuning and threat detection.
- Advanced skills in packet capture (pcap) and network analysis with tools like Corelight, NetWitness, and CRIBL pipelines.
- Experience maintaining and tuning Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) platforms such as CrowdStrike Falcon and SentinelOne.
- Demonstrated background in applying threat intelligence to enhance security operations.
