The Network Security Engineer (NSE) position is based in Memphis, TN and requires onsite presence from Monday to Friday. Network Security Engineer (NSE) - Summary
- Design, implement, monitor, and maintain network security solutions for enterprise-scale organizations.
- Safeguard critical data, applications, and systems from threats through proactive and reactive measures.
- Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to ensure secure and compliant network environments.
- Participate in the development and enforcement of security policies and disaster recovery plans.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and support network security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access control systems.
- Monitor network traffic and security events to detect vulnerabilities and unauthorized access.
- Maintain secure LAN/WAN environments using routing, switching, VLANs, ACLs, segmentation, and QoS.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, risk analysis, and participate in incident response activities.
- Support secure remote connectivity and enterprise wireless security initiatives.
- Troubleshoot complex network and security issues using monitoring and diagnostic tools.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, security procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
- Assist with regulatory compliance and audit requirements for cybersecurity standards.
- Work collaboratively with infrastructure, application, and operations teams to enable secure deployment and integration of technologies.
- Continuously seek improvements in network performance, reliability, and security posture.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in enterprise network security roles.
- Extensive experience with TCP/IP, LAN/WAN technologies, routing, switching, VLANs, and network segmentation.
- Proficiency with enterprise firewall technology (Palo Alto, Cisco preferred).
- Experience with site-to-site and remote VPNs (IPsec, SSL), IDS/IPS, vulnerability management, and incident response.
- Familiarity with network authentication, access controls, multifactor authentication, and directory services.
- Proficiency with network troubleshooting tools, packet analysis, and monitoring solutions.
- Strong knowledge of DNS, DHCP, SNMP, NetFlow, and QoS.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Security+, CISSP, CCSP, Palo Alto PCNSE, or CCNP Security are highly preferred.
- Experience supporting cybersecurity compliance initiatives and disaster recovery planning.
- Proven track record securing large-scale enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Ability to work onsite in Memphis, TN, Monday through Friday as a full-time employee.
