Network Engineer - Summary
As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, operation, and ongoing maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure, including both wired and wireless technologies. You will employ your knowledge across routing, switching, and network security, ensuring that critical healthcare systems remain secure, reliable, and scalable. Your expertise will help drive technology projects that support the organization's strategic goals, while your problem-solving abilities will be essential in incident response and troubleshooting. This role requires a balance of technical proficiency, communication skills, and a collaborative mindset to thrive in a fast-paced, healthcare-focused environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, operate, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, focusing on routing, switching, and wireless networking technologies.
- Manage and support network security tools, including Network Access Control (NAC), Cisco TrustSec, Identity Services Engine (ISE), VPNs, DNS security, and secure web services.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and participate in security incident response, working closely with Help Desk, Information Technology Operations Center (ITOC), and Security Operations Center (SOC) teams.
- Utilize and maintain software-defined networking (SDN) solutions, including Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), firewalls, WAN/LAN, and cloud networking platforms.
- Leverage automation and scripting tools such as Splunk, Ansible, Python, and .NET to streamline network management and monitoring tasks.
- Participate in, or lead, project-based implementations and upgrades, utilizing Agile or Waterfall methodologies.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Proficiency in enterprise routing, switching, wireless, and network security concepts.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco TrustSec, ISE, VPN solutions, and secure DNS/web services.
- Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) solutions, hybrid network environments, and cloud networking tools.
- Experience in scripting and automation using Python, Ansible, .NET, and monitoring tools like Splunk.
- Understanding of Agile and/or Waterfall project management methodologies.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred: Cisco certifications such as CCNA, and prior experience in large-scale healthcare or enterprise IT environments.
