Duties & Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat newborns with a range of medical conditions, including respiratory distress, infections, and congenital abnormalities.
- Perform and interpret specialized procedures such as intubation, central line placement, and lumbar puncture.
- Monitor and manage the health status of infants in the NICU, adjusting care plans as needed.
- Coordinate with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care from delivery through discharge.
- Communicate effectively with families, providing updates and education on treatment options and prognoses.
- Document clinical findings, treatment plans, and patient progress accurately in electronic medical records.
- Participate in hospital committees and quality improvement projects focused on neonatal health outcomes.
- Engage in teaching opportunities for residents, fellows, and medical students as appropriate.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a pediatric residency and a neonatology fellowship program.
- Board certification or eligibility in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
- Active and unrestricted medical license to practice medicine.
- Current certifications in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
