Neonatologist (MD/DO) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized medical care to critically ill and premature newborns in a Level III/IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
- Diagnose and manage a range of neonatal conditions, including respiratory distress, infections, congenital anomalies, and metabolic disorders
- Coordinate care with pediatricians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other members of the healthcare team
- Provide guidance and support to families regarding their infant’s condition, treatment plans, and ongoing care
- Participate in neonatal resuscitation and advanced life support procedures as needed
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based clinical protocols
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records in compliance with regulatory and institutional standards
- Participate in continuing education, staff training, and mentorship of junior medical staff and trainees

Qualifications & Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited institution
- Board certification or eligibility in Neonatology
- Unrestricted medical license to practice or eligibility to obtain one
- Demonstrated experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) setting
- Strong clinical decision-making and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to perform under pressure and adapt to changing clinical scenarios
