Palm Health Resources is seeking a skilled and compassionate Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team. This full-time role is based in St. Petersburg, FL, and is ideal for experienced Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) who are dedicated to delivering high-quality care to newborns in critical condition. Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) / Physician Assistant (PA) – NICU Summary
As a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in our NICU, you will play a critical role in the assessment, management, and coordination of care for premature and critically ill newborns. This position requires advanced clinical training and a commitment to excellence in neonatal care. The successful candidate will have direct experience in Level III or IV NICUs and will be responsible for delivering evidence-based care in a fast-paced, technologically advanced healthcare environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments of neonatal patients, including clinical evaluations and interpretation of diagnostic results.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for neonates in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Provide advanced interventions and procedures within NICU settings, including resuscitation, ventilator management, and medication administration as appropriate to licensure.
- Participate in daily patient rounds and communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Educate and support families regarding neonatal conditions, treatment plans, and discharge processes.
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, state regulations, and evidence-based guidelines relevant to neonatal care.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in ongoing professional development.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with organizational policies.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN, DNP) or Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies.
- Current licensure as an APRN (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse) or PA (Physician Assistant) in the state of Florida.
- Current BLS and PALS certifications (NRP accepted in lieu of PALS for NNPs).
- At least one year of direct NICU experience as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) or Physician Assistant (PA), or NICU RN experience for new graduates.
- Minimum three years of Level III or higher NICU experience required.
- Current national certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
