The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) / Physician Assistant (PA) - NICU plays a vital role in delivering specialized, high-quality care to newborns and infants with critical medical needs in a state-of-the-art level 4 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). As a valued member of a prestigious academic health system, you will join a multidisciplinary team that is committed to excellence in neonatal healthcare. This position offers the opportunity to work within a 54-bed, level 4 NICU that serves as a tertiary referral center, managing complex cases including those involving extremely premature infants and congenital anomalies. The environment is dynamic and collaborative, supporting both experienced and new team members as the unit continues to expand and enhance its services.

Our NICU is renowned for its clinical excellence and its role as a leader in neonatal care, offering advanced therapies and interventions to the most vulnerable patients. As the unit grows, we are seeking skilled Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNP) and Physician Assistants (PA) with a passion for neonatal medicine, an aptitude for critical care procedures, and a commitment to evidence-based practice. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in advanced procedures such as intubations, lumbar punctures, umbilical line and peripheral arterial line placements, and chest thoracentesis. Comprehensive training and support are provided for advanced skills including chest tube placements and Neo PICC line insertions, fostering ongoing professional development.

The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) / Physician Assistant (PA) - NICU works closely with neonatologists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other allied professionals to ensure that each patient receives individualized care. You will be responsible for managing patient rounds, developing and implementing care plans, and presenting cases within a collaborative framework. The role offers flexible scheduling options, including 12-hour day shifts, 12-hour night shifts, and 24-hour shifts, allowing for an optimal work-life balance. Team-based self-scheduling is supported, with the ability to adapt as needed to meet patient and unit needs.

Further, the position includes opportunities for additional shifts with critical staffing pay during periods of high demand, and there are no on-call requirements.
