Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) - Summary
- Provide expert-level care to neonates in intensive and acute care settings.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Deliver comprehensive support to families during the neonatal period.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and maintain current knowledge of neonatal best practices.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform detailed assessments and diagnostic evaluations of newborns.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for neonatal patients.
- Monitor and manage acute and chronic health conditions in neonates.
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Prescribe medications and therapies as appropriate within scope of practice.
- Provide education, counseling, and emotional support to families.
- Collaborate with attending physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals.
- Participate in clinical rounds, case conferences, and ongoing professional education.
- Document patient care activities and communicate effectively within the healthcare team.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) license with certification in Neonatology (NNP-BC or equivalent).
- Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program specializing in Neonatology.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications.
- Previous experience in a neonatal intensive care or similar clinical setting strongly preferred.
- Excellent clinical assessment, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal communication abilities.
- Ability to work flexible and rotating shifts as required by patient needs.
